The ABC's of Me

Although I have been reading blogs for several years now, I am new to writing my own. My hope for this blog is that it will be a place where I can share a little bit of everything. Some of the posts I enjoy reading on other blogs, are the ones that allow you to get to know the author a little better. I figured I would try it out and give you a glimpse of the author behind "Enjoying the Little Things"! 

A. Age:  32

B. Birthday: May 9th

C. Cake or Pie: 100% cake, preferably chocolate, and if it comes in the form of a cupcake, even better!

D. Drink: Other than water, I drink coffee and enjoy the occasional flavored beverage. 

E.  Eyes: I'm a brown-eyed girl.

F. Favorite color: At the moment, I am pretty obsessed with all things "wine" colored. 

G. Gent: The love of my life, Mr. Davis

H. Heigh: 5' 2.5". Gotta add that 1/2"!

I. Indulgence: Anything chocolate and red wine.

J. Job:  Currently unemployed due to an impending move early next year.

K. Kiddos: None yet.

L. Love: My savior Jesus Christ, my husband, family, friends, pup, summertime and Christmas!

M. Music: For the most part, I listen to Christian music. However, I also enjoy country music and I listen to a variety when working out. 

N. Nickname: Vany 

O. Oranges or apples: Apples, preferably honeycrisp.

P. Pets: Miniature schnauzer named Blanco. He is my loyal companion.

R. Residence: Nevada until February and then moving to Washington state :)

S. Siblings: 5 of them! 3 girls and 2 boys whom I adore. We have become closer as we have gotten older. 

T. Tattoos: 2, a butterfly since my name means butterfly and "Semper Fi" which is the Marine Corps motto meaning "always faithful". I got both while in the military. 

U. University: Liberty University.

V. Vehicle:  A silver Honda Accord.

W. Worst habit: I can be an interrupter :( but I am working on it.

X. X-rays: Ankle, chest and teeth.

Y. Yuck: Biscuits and gravy.

Getaway in Las Vegas

Since we are moving in a couple of months, I decided to quit my job and take advantage of the opportunity to travel.  My husband is currently on a work trip in Vegas and I decided it would be a good idea to tag along :) It has been a nice change of scenery and the fact that I don't have to cook or clean is an added bonus! The room we are currently staying in is over 1100 sqft and feels as though we are in an apartment instead of hotel living. It even has a fireplace! We are close to the strip but far enough that the hustle and bustle of Vegas isn't overwhelming. Although I miss my fur baby Blanco, I am enjoying being able to get out and about without having to worry about coming back to check on a dog. 

This weekend we were able to drive to Red Rock Canyon with some of our friends, and just enjoy the natural beauty this area has to offer. The weather was perfect and it was refreshing to take in God's creation!

Last night after a delicious dinner at The Cosmopolitan (sorry no pictures), we took a little stroll to The Bellagio to see their Christmas decor. I felt like a kid in a candy store taking in the sights! Lord knows I love all things Christmas! 

We concluded a lovely evening with some gelato because after all, it's about the little things :)
